On Saturday, September 5, 2026, twenty children traveled by train to Jindřichův Hradec for a pilgrimage. They were accompanied by approximately ten adults and two priests.
At the Church of St. Catherine, we were welcomed by Dean Ivo Prokop and several parishioners. Together, we celebrated a service that focused on Saint Francis of Assisi. After mass, we had the opportunity to visit the church and nativity scene, and the children participated in a game about Saint Francis. We also enjoyed refreshments in the former Franciscan monastery, for which we thank the parish.
Afterwards, we went on a pilgrimage route that leads to the Church of St. James, and at the "Saint Anne" well, we prayed for rain and moisture for our land. We then took advantage of the beautiful weather and went with the children to the playground. We also visited the Fairy Tale Exhibition, where we admired the illustrations and three-dimensional books by Vojtěch Kubašta. Finally, to add some excitement to the day, we watched the Aqua show at the St. Florian Center. After that, it was time to go to the train station and return home by train.
The pilgrimage was enriching and uplifting for both children and adults. We all felt gentle touches of God at every step. Thank you everyone!
